MailDex is the Mbox reader and converter that lets you organize your Mbox email content. Let MailDex read all of your .mbox files and create a searchable index. MailDex also organizes emails in Pst, Ost, Msg, Eml, Mht and Winmail.dat files.
Search for emails with MailDex's lightning fast index. There is no limit to the number of emails that you can add to MailDex, making it the perfect respository for your Mbox email history.
MailDex has an advanced email rendering engine that can accurately display complex MBOX html messages, including Rich Text emails with embedded graphics, and special formatting such as shapes, SmartArt and embedded charts. Hundreds of non-standard email formatting exceptions have been identified and individually included in the code, enabling this MBOX reader to render emails that appear malformed in other software products.
To start using MailDex, first create a project, and then add email content to the project. To do this, go to File > Open and then select folder containing your MBOX files. You can expand the file to reveal it's folder structure. Clicking on a project folder causes MailDex to display the emails in the Mail List window.
MailDex converts Mbox emails into perfect PDF documents. It also exports .pst, msg, eml, ost, and mht files to PDF. A range of pdf export options lets you decide how to handle email file attachments: extract them to a disk, convert them into the pdf image, or embed them as individual files. Support is included for ISO 19005-1, an important email archiving standard also known as PDF/A. MailDex is used by archivists for email archiving, including two U.S. presidential libraries. MailDex also supports commandline conversion of email to PDF.
With MailDex's pdf export capabilities, you can:
In addition to MBOX files, MailDex indexes .pst and .ost email files created by any version of Microsoft Outlook, including newer Unicode and older ANSI formatted .pst files.
System administrators are able to customize the user interface, removing any features their users don't need. An .msi file supports silent deployment and silent registration. Detects your operating system and installs either the native 64 or 32-bit version automatically. 64-bit MailDex is able to use memory above 4 GB for improved performance with email search and export operations.
Find important messages in an MBOX file with advanced search options. Use "quick search" to sift through emails fast. "Advanced Search" lets you specify multiple criteria. Search a specific range of dates, sender, or the recipient's email address.
Performing a search of a .Mbox file may yield larger set of emails that you want to give closer analysis. To support this, MailDex includes message filtering. Filters provides very fast access to emails that match a set of criteria. Very complex filters may be built, and then saved for re-use on different Pst files. You can apply different filters to the same email set.
